Mary Poppins
by P.L.Travers
When Mary Poppins arrives at their house on a gust of the East Wind, and slides up the banister, Jane and Michael Banks’s lives are turned magically and wonderfully upside down.
“Exquisitely reimagined for a new generation, this beautiful and sensitively abridged edition captures the magic and mystery of one of literature’s most treasured characters. With her unparalleled use of colour, collage and character, Lauren Child’s artwork is dazzling – and will delight the hearts and imaginations of readers new and old.”
P. L. Travers was born in 1899 in Australia. She worked as a secretary, actress and dancer, but writing was P. L. Travers real love. She received an OBE in 1977, and died in 1996.
“Cinematic and sumptuous –
Lauren Child has created the edition of a generation.”
